The Last 1960's Bus - Drinking Mug

Product no.: 1010

Here we have a unique design depicting the Last 1960's Bus. TTD386H, a traditional exposed radiator Leyland PD3/4 that had been ordered by Ramsbottom Urban District Council and was intended to become No11 in their small 12-vehicle bus fleet. However, by the time the bus was delivered in November 1969, their bus fleet and its bus operations had already been absorbed into the 'South East Lancashire and North East Cheshire' Passenger Transport Authority (SELNEC), this made it the last traditional half-cab Leyland bus to be manufactured for use in the UK, and the only example to be delivered new to a PTA. The bus came to SELNEC in full Ramsbottom Urban District Council livery, carrying fleet number 11. It currently resides in the Museum of Transport. The theory has it that Leyland did not want to build another bus like this, but they managed to collect together enough parts to build it, which is why it is so unique. If you want to know more about its specifications please come to the Museum and ask any of our technical volunteers who will be more than happy to advise you.
